Educational Background

I went to SUNY UB for my undergraduate education. After graduating summa cum laude with my B.A. in psychology, I worked as a full-time project coordinator for Dr. Sandra Murray for an NIH funded longitudinal couples study. This project, along with my honors thesis research with Dr. Shira Gabriel, inspired me to become a social psychologist.

In 2005 I moved across the country to Santa Barbara to begin my graduate education. I graduated with my PhD in social psychology and a quantitative minor in the social sciences in the summer of 2011 under the primary mentorship of Dr. Nancy Collins.

I started a postdoctoral position at the Ohio State University during the sumer of 2011. I worked at the Institute for Behavioral Medicine Research under the mentorship of Janice Kiecolt-Glaser, PhD until July 2014. During my postdoc I developed my physiological expertise, particularly in the area of psychoneuroimmunology.

I joined the University of Delaware in 2014. I am currently an Associate Professor and the director of the Close Relationships and Health Lab. I am also the director of the Educational and Professional Development Core of DE-INBRE, a multi-institutional consortium funded by NIH aiming to diversify the biomedical workforce.
